Dolly Parton was a beloved Emmy Award-winning producer and singer-songwriter. She co-founded the company Sandollar Productions with her longtime manager Sandy Gallin, which produced many TV series including Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel. She also produced numerous holiday movies such as "A Holly Dolly Christmas" as well as a multitude of TV specials which starred her.

Parton also had a long career in television in front of the camera. She was the star of a variety show called Dolly. She also played herself on numerous television series that included other variety shows where she performed her hit songs as well as on everything from The Simpsons to Designing Women. Parton also played Aunt Dolly on Hannah Montana.

Parton had a distinguished career in film. She starred in "Steel Magnolias," "9 to 5," and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas."

As a singer-songwriter Parton had 26 songs reach #1 on the Billboard country charts, a record for a female artist. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.

In addition to her iconic career in entertainment, Parton was the founder of the Imagination Library. That organization has donated over 332 million books to children around the world. Her children's book, "Coat of Many Colors," was dedicated to the Library of Congress to honor the Imagination Library's 100 millionth book donation.
