Patrick Stewart was an Emmy Award-nominated actor who worked in television, film, and theater. He played Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Picard. Stewart also played Captain Ahab in a miniseries adaptation of Moby Dick, Henry II in The Lion in Winter, and John of Gaunt in The Hollow Crown. He also lent his voiceover talents to animated series American Dad!

Stewart had a long and productive career in film in addition to his work on television. He was best known for playing Professor Charles Xavier in many films in the X-Men franchise. Additionally, he can be seen in Excalibur, Green Room, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, L.A. Story, and Conspiracy Theory. More recently, he could be heard in The Sheep Detectives.

Stewart began his career as an actor in the theater and continued to tread the boards for decades. He received a Tony Award nomination for playing the titular character in Macbeth. Stewart also acted alongside his close longtime friend Ian McKellen in Broadway productions of Waiting for Godot and No Man's Land. Stewart's other theatrical credits include The Tempest, Antony and Cleopatra, and A Christmas Carol.
